Building Better Worlds

Games

Here are a few mini-games that were designed as examples of various techniques. These are designed just to demonstrate and test specific features and technology and are not really fully developed games.

Escape From The Pharaoh's Tomb

The first is Escape from the Pharaoh's Tomb which is a short timed (15 minute) online escape room game. It's fun, and it's short enough to be easy to get through without much of a time commitment.

It runs on phone, tablet, and desktop platforms. It's a web-based app so there is nothing to install.

The Caves Of Rapa Nui

The second is The Caves of Rapa Nui - another web-based game - which is a maze game based on the images and history of Rapa Nui aka Easter Island. This one allows the user to create a login account so that they can play on different platforms and continue their progress. The game starts off with a small, simple maze to get you started and gets more complex as you progress. The mazes are freshly baked so each time you play the maze will be different.

Rail Yard Run

This game was developed as a companion to the book "Rail Tales: An Amtrak Adventure" which documents a two week train trip all around America. You can learn more about the book at the website https://therailtales.com

Rail Yard Run is a train-themed hyper-casual game that challenges you to move a character across various train tracks without getting hit. In other words, yes it's a little like Frogger but with trains. As you move up in levels the trains get faster and longer.

Like all of Neotera projects, this is web-based and works equally well on mobile devices as well as desktop or laptop platforms.

Stuff and Things

Not a game but I didn't like the task manager apps available so I wrote my own - Stuff and Things. This is a free web app and can be used by anyone on a single platform utilizing local storage. It's a Progressive Web App (PWA) so you can install links to it on your home page just like a native app.

For cross-platform support you will need an account so you can store tasks on my server. The app is currently available as a beta release and for an account you will need to contact me.
